On first kisses, and other firsts
I don't know about you, but seems to me that first kisses are generally not as amazing as we imagine it to be. Before it actually happens you think it's going to be this amazing romantic experience with someone really special. Birds will sing, fireworks will shoot up..and all that crap. Well..I think I am right to say that for about 90% of us the first kiss is weird, unromantic, confusing and not that great!
So not:
But:
I was 14 and a half and it was the 18th of February 2001. Yes I still remember the exact date! You see, my friend Keshia and I had our first kiss within a week of each other, and my parents were renewing the wallpaper at the time, so we wrote down the dates on the wall :p, aah to be 14. Two years ago my parents pulled off the wallpaper again and there it was!
My first kiss was with a guy from school, a year younger, and quite hunky looking. Me and Keshia would often go to the swimming pool with my parents and he'd be there. My mom would always mock us for our guy ogling at the edge of the pool, rather than actually swimming. Well, you can already guess it, my first kiss was at the swimming pool, just by the water slide. Romantic setting, I must say. It was also for truth or dare, even better. I had no idea how kissing (and I'm not talking about the MWAH kind of kiss here) actually worked. A friend had described it as "just keep your mouth open and circle that tongue around". Right. Circling..
Well that's exactly what me and "Sean" did. Circling. It was like kissing a washing machine. It was strange, awkward (about 5 people were watching us, as it was truth or dare- extra romance!) and I had my eyes wide open and kept thinking "How long am I supposed do to this? Are you supposed to keep your mouth open the whole time?"..
So yes, my first kiss was not very mindblowing. Also, Keshia was jealous because she liked him too. But she had had her first kiss the week before and I wanted to have my first kiss too. Sigh, peer pressure! Why couldn't I have just waited a bit longer, for a slightly better scenario. Although my second kiss with an actual boyfriend wasn't that good either, I was still stuck in the circling routine :D. Took a few tries to realise you're allowed to actually close your mouth :p and do other things besides circling around. I blame my friend for her really crappy kissing advice ! But I got the hang of it eventually. I loved how at that age (in my generation anyway, let's not get into the current one's eagerness to get all firsts over and done with as soon as they're out of primary school) you had these hour-long make out sessions, nothing but kissing, and it was totally amazing. People don't really do that much anymore once all the other things are open for business, I do miss it sometimes. I love a good kiss :)
How about you? Is there actually someone out there with one of those fairytale-like first kisses as we all imagined it would be like?
Other firsts were also not very great. They were all awkward and confusing, but that's probably a given. You really have no idea what you're supposed to be doing, and if you're doing it wrong, or oh my god what the hell is that. There is something to be said about the right age though, when you're just a silly adolescent you're mostly just doing it to know what it's like, or because everyone else is doing it, rather then having this profound intimate moment with someone. Also you're probably less embarrassed about everything, and will actually have had some Sex ED and are not as likely to not bother with protections, because really what are the odds!
Overall, not a big fan of firsts really :D Just too darn confusing. Another plus for being grown-up.

Dull Colours
HEY everyone!
I know it’s been weeks since I last wrote. Have been busy with couple of things, nothing such happened that was worth sharing or treasuring. It’s raining heavily. Colors of life are pretty dull these days. With November rain playing in the background “Nothing lasts forever and we both know hearts can change, and it’s hard to hold a candle in cold November rain” is all I can relate to.
Only people I totally loved and cared have always cheated on me, literally-non literally. And I forgive them, though from inside all I want to say is, fuck you, didn’t you know I would get hurt? What the hell where you thinking before doing it! Yes, I’m smiling from outside, and saying it’s alright it happens, that is because I love you, but the truth is you hurt me real bad!
Yes, like you must have figured out, life’s a little mess now. A lot of mess actually. And never been this restless in life. On one side I’m trying to get over things and it’s like I’m holding on it even more.
On top of it all exams this month and next and all this shit doesn’t exactly help you with concentration.
With hopes of better days, sunshine, love and promise of a more cheerful post next time, very soon, I’m signing of today!

Siddarth's 180 Movie trailer
Cinematography top notch ane padam chinnadi aipotundi emo, expecting a technical brilliance from this team
Kids today....
Yes, I have reached that age where I have come to believe that kids these days are idiots. How did I come to this conclusion? I often overhear young teenagers on the train as they go to school, and oh my god, do I want to punch them in the face. Why do they talk like morons? The most used words in their vocabulary seem to be 'dude', 'shit', 'fuck', 'man' and random caveman-like sounds. Nothing wrong with a little slang, we all do that, but really, can they have a normal slightly intelligent conversation ? And naturally, they all dress in penguin trousers, and listen to music loudly (without headphones) on the 7 o'clock train, and not just any music, BOOM BOOM BOOM beat music. Hence my great urge to punch.
Also, parents these days seem to be a lot less strict. Kids get mobiles at 12 years old, have a tv in their room, have a playstation, a wii, internet, and it goes on.. No wonder they never leave their room. And good luck studying when the sweet lure of facebook is calling.
And they never go outside anymore, no contact with nature at all, they grow up in front of a computer or a tv. Good luck on getting them to save the planet, they won't give a damn. Not that I never experienced the lure of the computer age. I spent quite a lot of time playing games, when the computer came in the house. But it was downstairs and parents made sure I wasn't on it every day all day. I played outside (in the garden, as I wasn't allowed to cross the street alone until 11, sigh :D) and have some great memories. Playing games all the time will not result in many childhood memories.
I still chuckle at the memory of my friend and I playing 'real life', and her accidentally placing her hand in a pile of dogpoop when crawling around. The image of her dismayed face and her raised poopy hand coming towards me still cracks me up. Those were the days! And it would be a pity if kids today didn't have that. Parents just need to monitor it, or their kids will become fat computer geeks with no social skills.
Lets hope my annoying teenage train companions will grow out of it. But I doubt it -_-

Basic storyline / subject / theme / anduloni angles naku baa nachayi. The main one “…” can’t reveal it because it will kill the interest/feel for those who read this & then watch the movie. For those who have already watched the movie… it is “the pre-interval episode & the pre-climax episode (confession scenes)”.
Dialogues are good, infact part of the moviega odigipovatam advantage.
Editing is neat, without disturbing the feel of the film.
Performances are good.
Chaitu, showed improvement and maturity/confidence further. He is good as a goal oriented student, lovable lover and dignified professional, but lacks impact as bridegroom. Though Sukumar has designed Hero’s role, which has less scope for dance & action sequences, it is still felt his inadequate skill set which is said as a commercial / mass parameter.
Tamanna, showcased her talent for the 1st time. Though not great, she has got a good opportunity on the lines of Sridevi, Kajol, Shriya’s earlier characters and she did a decent job with variance from village girl to software professional. One of her career best performance.

Screenplay, Music/Audio, Cam Work.
Screenplay is good, should have been taken care at places. One part here which has become both + & - is songs getting mixed up with the movie, I mean, all most all the major songs are shot with montages. So one can’t get a feel of watching song. Screenplay in 2nd half has some hiccups. MahaLaxmi-Ajith’s track, Scenes involved with grown-up kids & climax at marriage hall is not so convincing.
Music/Audio, is good but definitely not a great one, if the Sukumar-DSP duos track is considered. In a way the genre and the screenplay hasn’t provided much more scope for an everlasting audio. Well, even for the major songs, the built-in screenplay couldn’t highlight the songs adding enough value, as said above. Must mention here is, with this kind of screenplay & montage songs, DSP got a lucky chance of not working much on BGM, as most of the time, he is happy (officially happy) in using the song tunes, bits, rehashes, remixes etc as BGM.
Cam work, though good in parts, not adequate to sketch such a beautiful love story so beautifully on-screen!!!

Cutting short the major songs.
CG/DI work, Partly Cam work, Production Values.
For any love story, which is touching a new-angle of love, if supported by good cam work, does wonders on screen. It not only helps in providing good visuals on-screen, in return increases the connectivity factor of the feel of the content of the thought of the director of the film J .
For Ex: Geethanjali, Khushi, Santhosham, 7/G Brundavan Colony, Manasantha Nuvve, Arya, Kaho Na Pyar Hain, .. !
The film lacks the vibrancy in visuals which is seen in Sukumar’s movies till date.
The CG/DI done is the shabbiest in the recent times that too from a movie associated with crazy director, producer names. Ex Bits: That is Mahalaxmi Song
On the Whole:
This movie works on 80-20 basis.
It has got 80% Lovable, 20% Ignorable content!
Worth watching in Theatres and having a DVD in personal collection too!!!
Tail Piece:
Hero’s introduction & climax [marriage hall] scenes should have been taken good care with re-take/shoots. Saying this because it is evident from both Director & Hero’s past works that they are capable & confident enough in delivering goods atleast w.r.t performance on-screen. But here it gives a feel that the atmosphere is a bit-restricted which hindered the creativity/conviction of Director.
When MahaLaxmi herself 1st proposes Ajith, why the hell it is said/shown as Ajith being waiting for MahaLaxmi’s nod for 3 long years? What happened after final year exams to the biscuit love episode between MahaLaxmi & Ajith, before director sent him abroad? J
